I keep seeing efforts to compare the deplatforming of violent and radical white supremacists that were using platforms to coordinate a coup to whatever other unpopular thing is happening today. I suspect that's an attempt to cultivate a little sympathy for people who have none for others. Yes, large investment firms appear to be circling their wagons now and making moves through media partners and others to try to stop the bleeding. That's an entertaining enough event all on its own, it doesn't need specious comparisons to other recent events.
