Because it’s easier to have one contact, rather than have staff debate if they have called each parent an equal amount of times.
- kayodelycaon 6y agoThe article says even through they’ve listed the husband as primary, they ignore that, so this is clearly not the reason.
- jbob2000 6y agoMaybe they have learned that the primary contact doesn’t respond as quickly? My partner is listed as my primary emergency contact, and my mother is my second. But my partner isn’t always by her phone like my mother is, so if there were emergency calls happening frequently, I could see how staff would just know to call my mother. The story lacks nuance, it’s just someone looking to be victimized; woe is me, the answerer of my child’s daycare phone calls.

- mewpmewp2 6y agoThe title seems misleading to be honest. It makes it sound like they should be giving a phone call to each parent turn by turn for any piece of information.
