Having and looking after a toddler has sharply influenced my views on politics, the state, philosophy, meaning of life, etc. What is supposed to be an "innocent" human being is showing the raw human emotions like the ones you mention, and it seems to me that only through cultivating and overcoming them, can we achieve a reasonably peaceful and stable society. No amount of technology and smart solutions can make us evolve, unless we also focus on our emotional and spiritual integrity.
