At some point it's important to make a choice, any choice instead of being paralyzed and do nothing but wait until an experienced person tells you what to do. Totally agree with this. Part of a senior person's job is being the safety net for a junior person when the decision is bad, but the decision itself is unimportant to the pedagogical process. It's getting practice investigating and making thoughtful decisions that matters.
