I've just started using Facebook after ignoring it all this time. I've noticed exactly that problem. I commented on some stupid photo my friend posted, and then my mom told me later "Aren't you and Phil supposed to be working?". Good natured of course but it made me realize that actually, Facebook is a really awful place to interact with my friends.
