MIUI12 Battery Issues

With the recent rollout of MIUI12, the battery is draining very fast. Earlier in MIUI11, my Resmi note 9 pro Would last for 3-4 days on a single charge. Now it is barely lasting 1-2 days. Xiaomi officially claims that MIUI12 is 'not optimised' for some devices. Should we downgrade to MIUI 11? Or wait for a fix via OTA?
