Any single state is infinitely richer. Why doesn't it pay for the vaccines? Isn't it the purpose of government? Why are we paying so high taxes if our social policies are to be carried out by top 10 billionaires?
- pmoriarty 6y agoA better question is why the world is letting a tiny handful of people hoard unimaginable wealth while millions starve, die of preventable disease, or live in misery.
- emteycz 6y agoI don't see any problem with people being rich. The state has extreme resources compared to all rich people combined, and it doesn't use it - that's wrong. People making money from their enormous risk and ingenuity is a positive phenomenon, and is completely orthogonal to poor people being left alone by the state.
- pmoriarty 6y agoThere's nothing wrong with it except that everyone else becomes their servants, and the wealth they accumulate could actually be used to save lives instead of buying them mcmansions and yachts. What a tragic and absurd waste.
- emteycz 6y agoThe wealth they accumulated is absolutely inconsequential. All of their wealth would be equivalent to one year of state expenses worldwide at most. That changes nothing, and taking it away would only stop people from doing business, that is just bad for everyone. The state and the state alone has to step up its game, bullying billionaires won't help anything.
