I haven’t read the books, but my understanding was that the Ceres inhabitation in the Expanse was subterranean (subceresean?), and artificial “gravity” was created by spinning Ceres faster. And that is clearly impossible, given that Ceres doesn’t have the material strength to not disintegrate. This paper sounds eminently plausible by comparison.
