Greed doesn't require capitalism to make it so everyone loses. Most especially the greediest of them all lose the most compared to what they could have had instead. With so much pride in getting ahead of the pack, much more sigificant gains always lie in a different sometimes opposite direction that can not be visualized at all by such a mind.
