This doesn't make sense. If anything, it would seem likely mail-in voting has less chance of applying pressure into the individual voter. You can cast your vote without having to physically face another human.
On another note, what a low-quality article the original piece is. I'm not sure this belongs even on HN.
- ddingus 6y agoExactly. And as I mentioned in thread here, should someone be pressured, they have a way to report that and or get the vote corrected or nullified.
- AnthonyMouse 6y agoIt expands the space in which you could be coerced from a polling place with monitors to the entire world where someone could force you to bring your ballot and fill it out in front of them.
- waihtis 6y agoI don't know how many people are partaking in this ballot, but even with a small number of people it's much less economically feasible to individually travel to and pressure people at their homes versus having a set number of places you can arm with your "political guard."
- AnthonyMouse 6y agoExcept that the set number of places have monitors from both sides who can prevent anyone from having to show their ballot in the 30 seconds between when they fill it out and when they put it into the box.
