Another low effort blog post that Hackernews readers have upvoted because it says obvious things that they agree with.
Quality on blog posts and articles is taking a bit of a dip lately.
- hvasilev 6y agoI agree. There are maybe 1-2 articles a day that are really worth reading here. I skim the rest.
- slx26 6y agoPeople with experience are acknowledging this has value for newbies. That you already learned the lessons doesn't mean they aren't valuable to others. Sure, not the most exciting and creative piece of writing we have seen this year, but there's no need to be so dismissive either, we shouldn't let our own experience blind us.
- tgv 6y agoIt's just a list, no arguments, so that's not high quality, indeed. But the author speaks from experience, and it resonates with experiences from others here, mine included (although I'm using a nosql db for recent projects). It offers a starting point for some discussion and elaboration, so it's fine by me.
- heresie-dabord 6y agoI disagree, this is healthy exchange. Programmers -- and their employers -- want to discuss what works and what doesn't in the crazy world of software development. Although this might not be a moment of reflection for you, there are software projects big and small happening all over the world, every day. A large proportion of them fail. Or don't fail completely as long as we learn something.
