This is terrifying. I swear the tech community would have been universally against this just a few years ago. What happened?
- tyleo 6y agoI think people are also terrified by the political violence from both sides over the past year. That was obviously the impetus for this. Just as other extremist violence like 9-11 was the impetus for the patriot act.
- jdbernard 6y agoI think there are still just as many of us who are against it as there were years ago, we're just no longer as vocal about it. A lot of us have given up being perceived as "doomsday" prophets. Mainstream culture doesn't really believe or care about mass surveillance until it personally affects them negatively.
