Ask HN: How do you practice digital minimalism?
- Hackbraten 6y agoI don’t use note-taking apps because Markdown is sufficient for the task, plus it’s going to outlast most note-taking apps. Same thing for media management software: my own file system is sufficient for the task. It’s also going to outlast most media management apps.
- mrspeaker 6y agoEmacs has been life changing for me in this regard. It's ugly and brutalist and weird - but also beautiful! Everything I do (Email, slack, GTD, project planning, time keeping, note taking, typing this comment) is done in one program. I've cancelled so many subscriptions over the last few years as I consolidated everything - I realized most startups could be implemented as an emacs minor mode!
