I used usenet back in the 90s when I was in college. Good times. I just the other day switched from Gmail to ProtonMail/Thunderbird and saw they still have their news reader working. I signed up for an account $20/year at vipernews.com and am now chatting with people in usenet. Lot less traffic now then back in the day but it brings back memories.

Thank you for this post. Out of curiosity, what newsgroups are you reading/posting to? I've been wanting to get back into Usenet but not interested in binaries, and looking for active groups. Thanks again!
