I think they're going to exit the market until Australian legislation changes, Google will fight it on principle, since the law is essentially adding "link rent" to web searches(and uncertainty to legality of linking itself). However, whats more interesting who will replace them: Yandex(used by DDG) and similar engines(Baidu?) will not be strongarmed by Australian government to pay for links, giving them a competitive advantage..
