  Like, contributing back? AFAICT Amazon did contribute back to ES, in the form of code. Running a profitable business to service free software has nothing to do with the philosophy.

  "Free Software" is not about the license but the philosiphy. "Open source" on the other hand...

    Regardless, neither helps with Elastic's problem (if we accept it as a problem).
