What's the traditional Japanese name for the colour of the Saffron robes worn by Buddhist monks? Was the saffron colour considered distinct from other orange colours?
- hinoki 6y agoI’m not an expert on Buddhism or Japan, but I found this[0] on Wikipedia which states that the colour is 藤黄 (tou-ou), wisteria yellow. Today I learned that wisteria can be yellow.
