This is so tiring.
I'm a Swedish man. Last time I visited the US was several years ago. I'm not particularly sympathetic towards Donald Trump or Parler. I'm definitely not here to defend nazism.
Not sure if it's intended, but if you intend to get sympathy and support for your cause (whatever that is) by calling me a nazi or implying my interest in internet infrastructure has anything to do with supporting nazism, then you are not gonna get very much sympathy from me.
So way to go with the polarization.
- richardARPANET 6y agoWhy are you mentioning Nazis? They literally do not exist in 2021 (except in the Media's imagination). Find me one post by a "Nazi" on Parler and I'll wire you $100USD
- gruez 6y agoBefore I take you up on your offer, what qualifies as a nazi to you? Someone who is an official member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party? Someone who simply hates jews/minorities, thinks hitler did nothing wrong, and has a swastika hanging in his bedroom?
- richardARPANET 6y agohttps://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Nazi https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Nazi
- gruez 6y agoSee the second definition. Also note the comment you first replied to (made by bjeds) was using "nazi" with lower case.
- richardARPANET 6y agoI'm waiting for you to show me all these nazis. I can show you plenty of communists, within the new US administration.
- gruez 6y agoJudging by your use of lower case nazi, are you agreeing to the second definition in merriam-webster's dictionary then?
- azinman2 6y agoWell they may not exist in some very literal sense because they lost the war and their gov no longer exists, but it’s very easy to find sympathizers who have plenty of their memorabilia, fly their flags, use their salute, and take the ideas into modern times with things like a “Camp Auschwitz - Staff” sweater…
- rodgerd 6y agoIronically, trying to literalise language to control discourse is the most Orwellian - in the sense of IngSoc's Newspeak - thing present. (I have the unfair advantage of actually having read 1984, which it seems unlikely most Parler enthusiasts have)
- vaduz 6y ago> [..] take the ideas into modern times with things like a “Camp Auschwitz - Staff” sweater This one sadly becomes quite ironically hilarious when you realise that a significant portion of the "staff" was made out units of prisoners themselves... In other words, anyone who wears a sweater like that has no damn clue what he is talking about.
- ryanlol 6y agoSo what motivated you to ignore all the facts when posting your comment? Your implication that LACNIC is pulling DDoS-Guards IPs just because LACNIC doesn’t like the content they host couldn’t be further from the truth. Describing Guilmette as a “self-righteous american man” seems oddly hostile for someone with no skin in the game.
