The first self disinfecting door handle
- jschveibinz 6y agoJust a note: This is not the first disinfecting door handle. Brass (high copper) door handles have been disinfecting for over 100 years. Copper is very effective. People just stopped using them for some silly reason. They should probably be standard in all commercial buildings.
- GordonS 6y agoAny idea how effective copper is vs chemical disinfectant (alcohol, I guess?).

I read that it depends on time, temperature and microbe—-but in general, copper is highly effective.
- JoeAltmaier 6y agoI google for this type of thing, I find half a dozen. So 'first' is a reach. But a good idea nevertheless! For those kind of things that can live on a door handle (few).
