Niche Construction

- carapace 6y agoI've heard this idea (I think) expressed as, "All organisms garden". It also reminds me of Dawkins' "Extended Phenotype", and the ultimate ecological niche: Gaia, the self-regulating "niche" between vacuum and magma, between Sol and Nuit. (Nuit is the Egyptian Goddess of the Night Sky. I'm being poetical referring to how we need both a nearby but not-too-close star and the cold sky to have an energy gradient for life.)
