Tell HN: Signal Is Down Again
Can't send nor receive messages.
I'm donating to them, but I'm not sure if I'll keep using their service if the outages continue.

- nacs 6y agoThat's pretty much the most barebones/useless status page I've seen of any company. No history, no uptime percent, no mention of last downtime, etc.

- wishinghand 6y agoIt sucks but this isn’t endemic to their product. I’ve only seen it happen in the wake of the recent Whatsapp privacy policy change.
- y3k 6y agoI know, but may be worthy to give Matrix a shot.
- approxim8ion 6y agoUnless you're self hosting or using an alternate server Matrix.org will run into much of the same. Delivery can already be quire delayed occasionally on the main server, and it's barely popular in terms of big picture right now.

- ffpip 6y agoOne can only guess. Signal is end to end encrypted :)
- curiousmindz 6y agoI would suggest being a bit patient with them. I wish they were better prepared for this surge in popularity, but now that we are here, it will probably take weeks for them to iron out all the core issues to achieve proper scalability. If they are still having issues a month from now, then I would be concerned.
