macOS is nothing like iOS WRT apps you can install and run.
Turning off Gatekeeper is literally a single terminal command. (sudo spctl --master-disable)
- ChrisRR 6y agoAnd how many average computer users even know what a terminal is, let alone have ever used it
- xodice 6y agoI personally think if you cannot run that simple command and don't know what Terminal.app is then the defaults are correct for you. For power users you can make macOS as open as you want is all I was getting at. Again, just my personal opinion.
