Thumb injury forces top gamer to retire at 25
- Kaibeezy 6y agoIt’s implied—but I can’t find a report that states expressly—the injury was caused by gaming. Are there not controller designs or remaps that could accommodate such an injury? Are they not allowed? Would they be not enough to equalize or would they give an advantage?
- AnIdiotOnTheNet 6y agoThere are definitely controllers designed for players with significantly greater disabilities than this[0], and there are some high level gamers with significant disabilities (I don't watch e-sports, so I'm unsure if there are professionals). I think it is certainly possible for him to adapt, but he doesn't seem interested in that and that's ok too. [0] And there are quite a few people out there who will make custom controllers to fit your needs.
