I'm in the nice part of Taipei, I've seen drastically more inequality and squalor in Los Angeles than here. Especially post-COVID, my old apartment was in the Brentwood area and it's BONKERS how much more homelessness there is. All in all, living standards seem very high, I haven't seen much homelessness in my day to day (especially compared to USA), but I've only been here for a month so maybe I've been in a bubble.
