Maybe they shouldn't have let go the guy who made it happen…
- christophilus 6y agoI missed this. What is the backstory?
- drak0n1c 6y agoThe founder of Brave was the CTO of Mozilla.
- waynesonfire 6y agogood riddance. let him screw up his own browser.
- langitbiru 6y agoHe was also the CEO of Mozilla (for 11 days).
- zrm 6y agohttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brendan_Eich https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brendan_Eich
- babypuncher 6y agoMaybe he shouldn't have donated all that money to bigoted organizations.
- lmedinas 6y agomaybe he does whatever he wants with his money.
- approxim8ion 6y agoMaybe he suffers the consequences of that then.
- vxNsr 6y agoLike building a new browser that's actually innovating instead of stagnating?
- approxim8ion 6y agoSure, why not. Good for him to be able to keep his bigoted values and remain successful, good for Mozilla to stand by theirs. I don't see the problem here. His replacement at Mozilla by all accounts seems to be not great, but they could just as well have signed someone who was and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
- vxNsr 6y agoAh, but I would argue that making business choices based on politics is always gonna end badly.
- approxim8ion 6y agoWhere does one draw the lines between personal politics and morality, though? I'm sure if you consider a business' only purpose to be enriching the wallets of its shareholders then you might not be wrong, although I'm not so sure.
