This seems to be oddly favorable to apple. Think of the two scenarios.
1- samsung is a complete copycat (likely), and apple has plenty more ammo, which they would get during normal discovery anyway
2- samsung has some novel features, and apple gets advance access to these
- earl 15y agoPlease read the article. "The advanced discovery is limited to "Outside Counsel Eyes Only," meaning that Apple's engineering staff and in-house legal team will not have access to the materials. Apple's legal team handling the suit will determine wether to file for an injunction blocking the devices from being sold."
- seats 15y agoRead it just too fast. I actually missed the exclusion, thanks for the correction.
- danudey 15y agoMaybe it's just me, but it seems like at this point in the game, Apple is probably so deep in development of iOS 5 that there's probably no room to suddenly add a new feature or change direction of an existing one substantially. Even if that weren't the case though, there haven't been a huge amount of innovations from Android that Apple has been interested in stealing; lots of 'ideas' that Apple just didn't implement sooner, and eventually implemented differently (copy and paste) though. I just don't feel like if Apple saw Samsung's new offerings, they'd care enough to bother changing the iPhone 5.
