Ask HN: Good Design Mockup Software, other than PowerPoint
I currently use PowerPoint for design mock-ups.
It takes minimal effort to drag icons and images onto a page and quickly iterate through many different concepts.
What do you use to quickly create new design concepts?

- kyleShropshire 6y agoThanks, I will check it out.
- jmarchello 6y agoI second figma, it’s great
- billfruit 6y agoThere is[0] something called "pencil" for mock guis. [0] https://pencil.evolus.vn/ https://pencil.evolus.vn/
- kyleShropshire 6y agoThat looks promising since the feature list basically covers what I try to do currently with powerpoint.
- andix 6y agoFor UI Mockups i use Balsamiq https://balsamiq.com/wireframes/ https://balsamiq.com/wireframes/ It's my sweet spot for quick iterations, close to reality and still abstract enough
- kyleShropshire 6y agoThanks, I like how it purposely looks like sketches to help guide people to the meaning behind the mock-up and not the specific hue used for the buttons.
- pensatoio 6y agohttps://miro.com https://miro.com Miro (formerly RealtimeBord) is a multipurpose digital whiteboard that has changed remote work for me. Even before the pandemic, it made partially remote team collaboration so much easier. You can drag and drop stuff from your computer into the board. You can draw. It has awesome diagraming tools, icon sets, and extensions. It’s not specifically a design tool, but it fills that role of whiteboard - sharing ideas visually - better than I thought possible in a virtual setting. (I don’t work for them. I just love it so much. If anyone from miro sees this, please offer a cheap personal plan.)
