Frugality is being cheap just for the sake of not spending money. Most startups on the other hand have more incentives in maximizing their spend towards increasing and retaining their current and future cash-flow. If we combine that with network effects, your cash-flow is technically growing relative to the exponential growth of your network / userbase / community.
