Can functional program people speak without mentioning sum types or monads?
- damnyou 6y agoI don't care nearly as much about first-class monads, though monadic patterns pop up everywhere in programming. Anyone who's written a foldMap or a flatMap has at least a sense of what a monad feels like. Sum types are a zillion times more important.
