National Rifle Association Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
- ianai 6y agoI imagine they'll be replaced by an organization that holds closer to their original mandate. Edit-by original mandate, I mean not the political action stuff.
- gowld 6y agoThe article says the bankruptcy is just a mechanism to move out of NY State (to Texas) which is challenging NRA legally. For an actual gun rights lobby alternative to the National s/Rifle/Republican/ Association, see https://gunowners.org/ https://gunowners.org/
- millzlane 6y agoWithout getting too much into the politics. It will most likely be the Firearms Policy Coalition or the Gun Owners of America group.
- fiftyfifty 6y agoRegardless of where you stand on guns and the second amendment in the US, I don't think anyone can argue that the NRA was spending it's member's money well: https://www.thedailybeast.com/ny-attorney-general-leticia-james-moves-to-disband-the-national-rifle-association https://www.thedailybeast.com/ny-attorney-general-leticia-ja...
- caeril 6y agoIndeed. They revealed themselves for the snakes they are when they advocated for red-flag laws and didn't bother fighting back against the bump-stock reclassification. You're much better off supporting GOA or FPC.
- copperwater69 6y agoFrom what I can tell they've just sat by as state after state passes increasingly restrictive gun laws
