Twitter CEO @jack Detailing Agenda For Further Political Censorship
- admiralspoo 6y agoWallstreet clearly does not like their recent actions. If Twitter stock keeps dropping as it is now, I wonder if the board will oust the current CEO.
- rvz 6y agoI doubt jack cares about Twitter’s stock since he even knows that Twitter itself is not even sustainable anyway. Why bother with Twitter stock when Square stock is at an all time high.
- davismwfl 6y agoBecause he's sitting on top of both, which means he needs to have the confidence of his shareholders. Shareholders will push him out quickly if they think he is incapable, more so at Square than Twitter. Frankly I am surprised they haven't already, but I think the fact he keeps a lower profile with Square it has helped his longevity.
- PragmaticPulp 6y agoSeems like much of the drama could have been minimized if Twitter simply positioned this as enforcing their existing rules.
- polka_haunts_us 6y agoProbably not. That's how everything always get positioned, but it's very easy to find tons of people from "the other side" (or even others from "the same side") who are breaking the rules that aren't getting enforced on. An example from Reddit, there was a known toxic sub who would always brigade other subs when those subs talked about how toxic they were, and it wasn't subtle. I remember one time someone said something negative about them in a very small sub I was a member of, the post had like 50 upvotes after 2 hours. I watched in real time as it went sub 0, with dozens of comments like "How dare you say bad things about us you scumbag". That kind of behavior was/is ostensibly against the site rules, Reddit never touched them, they were on "the same side" as the Admins. The cause and effect isn't "They violated the TOS, therefore they got banned", it's "I wanted to ban them, and TOS violations is my nebulous excuse".
