How Does Russia’s Covid-19 Vaccine Compare with Pfizer, Moderna?
- coldtea 6y agoBadly according to Pfizer and Moderna executives.
- vondur 6y agoInteresting, I didn't know that the Russian vaccine was using m-RNA tech similar to Pfizer and Moderna. Also the extra trick of using the different adenovirus for the second dose. I assumed they were using deactivated virus particles like the Chinese vaccine.
- valarauko 6y agoSlight correction: Sputnik V (and the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine) uses cDNA as the genetic payload, not mRNA. The adenovirus injects the cDNA into the nucleus, where it is translated into mRNA, which migrates into the cytoplasm, where the rest is similar to Pfizer & Moderna.
