According to the linked article, most of the tweets were about open science issue, though a few tweets may have had a link to Sci-Hub’s website. The latter probably used as an excuse to ban them. I just checked and the pirate bay for example has a perfectly fine twitter account with a great handle (@tpb), and their profile even links to the website. Not sure if they have any tweets linking to their website though.
