U.S. executes its first female death row inmate in decades
- underseacables 6y agoThere are many problems with the death penalty, but I’m disturbed by the media’s virtue signaling on the issue. When is a penalty of death appropriate? “ Montgomery, 52, was convicted in 2007 of a grotesque crime: strangling a Missouri woman who was eight months pregnant, and cutting the baby from her abdomen.”
- curmudgeon22 6y agoI’m not sure I agree that’s virtue signalling. It’s quite a few paragraphs into the article and gives context on the actual crime committed. They do also discuss arguments against her execution, including mental health and an extremely traumatic upbringing. I agree with you that it’s tough to codify when the death penalty is appropriate.
