I'm not sure this article is relevant to HN, but it reminds me to point out that Congressional security forces ultimately report to the Speaker of the House, currently AKA Nancy Pelosi...so blame for security lapses or missteps ultimately lands at her desk. I wonder if it's ok to ask her what role she played in this debacle?
- gnusty_gnurc 6y agoWhat role does Congress play in the social dysfunction we've all witnessed for a year now? Congress failed to offer substantial relief to Americans that are trapped in their houses, many without jobs, accumulating debt and unable to pay bills. Pelosi gets spotted in a hair salon, shows off her freezer full of luxury ice cream, all while ordinary Americans suffer. I have no interest in defending or feeling sorry for Congress. They've got a 15% approval rating, so it seems no one does either.
