Wouldn't the need to feel productive in order to avoid meaninglessness/depression be considered escapism?
- fairity 6y agoSure, OC's situation could be categorized as escapism, technically, but it doesn't sound like the unhealthy kind. Escapism is only unhealthy if you're participating in the activity at the detriment of your long term fulfillment. Similarly, addiction is generally bad, but if your addiction isn't detrimental to your long-term health, there's no problem.
