I was just thinking about the importance of the WRT54G in the last days while selecting a new wireless access point. I ordered an Ubiquiti UAC-AP-LITE, based on the price and clean hardware design. I was torn on firmware- Unifi, or flash OpenWRT? The day my package arrives the news of the Ubiquiti breach emerges. OpenWRT it is! Some things never change. A lot of what I learned about networking I owe to the coolness/fun factor of installing OpenWRT on WRT54G units when I was a teenager.
