I’ve never understood why a referendum like this would be a simple majority. Shouldn’t such a drastic result require a 2/3rds clear win?

I’ve never understood why a referendum like this would be a simple majority. Shouldn’t such a drastic result require a 2/3rds clear win?
- dazc 6y agoPeople voted in the knowledge it was a binary in/out and the result would be decided by majority. I don't recall anyone suggesting such an idea until after the fact they didn't get the result they hoped for?
