You don't say anything about what you are building or what stage you are at. Your tech choices should be driven by your business needs. Some startups can get by with nothing other than Wordpress for a while. Others may need all the tools above.
I will say as far as Auth that if it's going to be important to your business and you are planning on having a ton of users then you should either choose a platform with it baked in or you should leverage a provider such as Auth0. Auth0 cost-benefit will be positive for almost any business except one that registers a ton of low-value users.
- safog 6y agoIt was mostly a thought exercise - I'm just kind of weird in that I like setting up and configuring servers so I'd like to take a stab at it depending on what HN says - just to keep myself sharp. Auth0 is new, thanks! I'm checking it out now. I was only familiar with the AWS IAM.
- bigiain 6y ago> I like setting up and configuring servers That should be in about the last position on your list of reason why your startup makes decisions. The top of your list starts with "I want to make money out of this" and "I know how to solve this problem a lot of people have" (probably but not necessarily in that order), followed by "I'm experienced and fast in programming language $X using framework $Y and database $Z", and with "I like configuring servers" at least 100 places further down the list.
