I keep a Google Doc as like an infinite document for my work notes; every day I add a new bullet at the top with the day's date and write sub-bullets over the course of the day (work done or tasks Todo if someone's asked for something). To remember what I'm doing I either look at my last commit or my staged file changes. I'm surprised to learn people are resorting to comments / broken code, tbh.
