I can just imagine the regional sales manager barking orders to their underlings. "Screw the pandemic! Your numbers are down this quarter, get your @ss out there and get your accounts in line! Or else YOU will be in line at the food bank!" I am supprised that in this day and age "in person" software audits are still being done. I guess there must still be lots of hospitals using orphaned software as I don't think that any new software would be shipped without a method to call home to the suppliers with unique IDs.
