I am interested in what makes you think a large chunk of the population can not be trusted? I think that the news has acted as a wedge to drive people apart as much as possible. The BLM protests have some good points but also have violence surrounding it. Trump supporters may not have the best points but there has been evidence of voter fraud in the past and asking for investigation is not a bad thing, violence is unacceptable.
