You neglect to mention the people that tried to raid the corridors where high level politicians were. One of those people was shot and killed instantly, point blank, after ignoring repeated warnings from officers. Not exactly peaceful
- whatshisface 6y agoStrictly speaking being shot by the police after repeated verbal warnings does not necessarily imply someone isn't peaceful, although in the larger context your point may stand. (It's tough to prove what a person's intentions were when they never got a chance to carry them out.)
- blisterpeanuts 6y agoYes, one of the "terrorists" (an unarmed woman) was shot to death by a cop. Yes she was trespassing but he used excessive force. I've watched the videos. Try again.
- Pfhreak 6y agoShe was halfway through a smashed in window, charging secret service members in the room directly outside where Congress was sheltering in place. Your characterization is wildly inaccurate. Behind her was a surging crowd who were chanting smash it down, and slamming objects into the doors in an attempt to violently break them down.
- ptudan 6y agoShe was leading a mob into the area where the VP and other important persons were sheltering. That is treasonous. Calling it trespassing is not accurate.
- blisterpeanuts 6y agoHow is it more treasonous than a mob of a couple thousand people laying siege to the federal building in Portland for days, at one point barricading the entrance and trying to set it on fire, with employees inside? As recently as January 1, a mob was hurling Molotov cocktails at the federal courthouse. I don't recall any political leaders expressing anger and disgust over that.
