Incitement to Mob Violence, Acceptable versus Unacceptable Forms
- scotty79 6y agoIt was fairly easy to identify Trump quotes. He has particular style and his quotes here are clear appeal to stength and morality that can easily trigger violent moral outrage when there was previously very little. Citation of other politicians were kind of observational, and justifying not inciting, even stabilizing (in state of unrest). With the exception of quote 8 that I completely mistook for Trump. Also to gather those quotes from democrats author had to search through a lot of speeches while to get Trump quotes you could just do it with one of his speeches because he says all the same things since he lost, over and over drilling them into his supporters by mere exposure effect.

- foogazi 6y ago> Do Trump’s statements really appear to be more of an “incitement to violence” than the statements of Pressley, Ocasio-Cortez, Pelosi and Harris? Yes Proof: > We will never give up. We will never concede, it doesn’t happen. - Trump at the January 6 speech. January 6! And he is still not accepting the results From the President of the United States, without any proof of fraud, knowing full well that he lost. That is his grievance- he lost an election. After he was ignored he incited the mob to pressure Congress. Also WTF: > The assault on the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday was a huge unforced error by those who crossed the line into lawbreaking and violence. Unforced error? It was not an isolated incident, but the culmination of series of events intended to overturn the election
