Americans didn’t Weimar-Republic into a fascist regime this time, thankfully.
The prevailing idea on HN is however “let’s have no regulation than bad regulation”... Guys, there’s such thing as good regulation.
- amznthrwaway 6y agoHN is largely pro fascism, and pro white supremacy at any cost. This is an extremely bigoted place, and as such there are a lot of people who ar quite comfortable with a civil war which they feel might benefit them. These people do not care about democracy. This is a deliberate result of long running mod3ation decisions.

- Griffinsauce 6y agoTo be fair, it's far from over. If this is analogous to the beer hall putsch it can be evaluated in a decade or two perhaps. The very most dangerous thing that could be done right now is to say "glad that's over and nothing happened".
- thrwawy12345 6y agoYea. Now seems like a weird time to declare that fascism hasn’t taken hold, given all the censorship.
- LarvaFX 6y agoLearn from Germany: Das Grundgesetz der Bundesrepublik Deutschland Artikel 18 Wer die Freiheit der Meinungsäußerung, insbesondere die Pressefreiheit (Artikel 5 Abs. 1), die Lehrfreiheit (Artikel 5 Abs. 3), die Versammlungsfreiheit (Artikel 8), die Vereinigungsfreiheit (Artikel 9), das Brief-, Post- und Fernmeldegeheimnis (Artikel 10), das Eigentum (Artikel 14) oder das Asylrecht (Artikel 16a) zum Kampfe gegen die freiheitliche demokratische Grundordnung mißbraucht, verwirkt diese Grundrechte.
