And yet they believe outright lies, lies repeated by GOP leaders, journalists etc, who at the same time denigrated the main stream media and scientists, eroding trust in neutral institutions.
Evaluations are hard to make when all the sources you trust are lying to you.
- hanselot 6y agoNeutral is a very interesting word. I consider myself centrist, yet my views are considered by others to be "far right" and fringe, simply because I refuse to be told what to think by the US Left's propaganda machine. So go figure. When even centrists are disenfranchised by your rhetoric, why would you feel safe, wherever you consider yourself to be on the political spectrum?
- cmurf 6y agoIn 1861 the Senate expelled 10 senators for being involved in a conspiracy against the United States. And 7 years later, the 14th amendment was passed. The lies for profit charlatans basically get away with it. But I do not think members of Congress should. Every single one of those who voted on false pretenses to overturn an election last week, should be expelled. That is the fraud that has happened in this election.
- lliamander 6y agoDemocrats have challenged electors for dumb reasons before. It's their right. Get a grip.
- cmurf 6y agoThose challenges weren't based on lies and charlatanry. Voter suppression is real and significant.
- lliamander 6y agoAre you prepared to offer the level of evidence to support your position that you expect of Trump supporters in proving their claims of voter fraud?
- dboreham 6y agoThey didn't tell millions of people that the election had been outright stolen. Not even in 2016 when it pretty much was.
- lliamander 6y ago2016 was stolen? by whom, the Russians? Here's the thing: How can you expect any one to believe on the one hand that for four years we have had an illegitimate president who is simultaneously a Russian agent and Orange Hitler... and yet tell me that 2020 was a perfectly run election? Are you telling me that patriotic Americans across the country would not due their duty to remove an illegitimate President by any means necessary (including fraud)? I'm not even saying 2020 was stolen, but the cognitive dissonance in saying 2020 was legit but 2016 was not is massive.
- damnyou 6y agoI don't think Russia hacked servers or anything like that. But the fact is that Russia made a very large and active effort to interfere in the US election, as laid out very clearly in the Senate report. It's not something we consider stealing in the ordinary sense, but that's only because it's significantly more sophisticated than what the MAGA mob is currently trying to do. (The US has interfered in other countries' elections before, of course.)
- lliamander 6y ago> But the fact is that Russia made a very large and active effort to interfere in the US election, as laid out very clearly in the Senate report. Yes, they engaged social media campaigns, although I don't think it was enough to influence the outcome of 2016. But many people are convinced it was, and that believe that Trump has never been a legitimate president. Do you not think people would take steps to prevent an illegitimate president from winning re-election?
- Taurenking 6y agoThat is a delusional statement
