If HN is primarily a US platform, and the Capitol belongs to all the US people, then it seems to me to be of general interest to confirm in a single post that an investigation is being prosecuted and with some vigor. And given the weakness of the initial response, it seems important for the Law and Order element of the Government to demonstrate that they are taking this part of the investigation very seriously. Unusual action by a US Attorney perhaps, but reasonable in this case IMHO.
