MPEG-la did not create those codecs they just use the patents to make money. The people that actually made the codecs are long gone.

- koolk3ychain 6y agoI respect the patent system and the justice system that backs it. Of course, it's not without issues - but there are agreements and investments those individuals made to hold said patents. Just because it's "not fair" isn't a reason to invalidate the whole system. That being said - fuck patent trolls.
