Hard to believe, in this day and age, but some developers have other priorities, especially when working with free software. I question if this is actually a bug. It seems to be working as intended, just not the way the author wants. Seems like the quickest solution would be for the author to either take on the job themself, or absent the time or expertise, pay someone else to do it.
