I agree. The only caveat is that this goes for founders or engineers who are financially tied with the company success. If the engineer just collects paycheck, they might prioritize fun - and I feel that might be behind a lot of the "reinventing the wheel" efforts you see in the industry. Or maybe I'm just cynical.
